Keen not to have too much of a break in between riding motorbikes, this week saw Louise checking into Lymm services for a rendez vous with an IAM Assessor for Warrington IAM Group.
Following passing her test in June, Louise was keen to keep on progressing and improving her riding skills, which can be difficult if you’re riding by yourself. Louise’s journeys are mainly work commutes, with a bimble of a weekend, weather permitting..which lets face it hasn’t been great!
This course is aimed at bikers, to assist them in riding safer, smoother and more economically, and after an initial assessed ride involves 6 – 8 sessions before an examination.
IAM Roadsmart is a registered charity and all of the assessors, instructors and examiners are volunteers.
The initial assessment was only a couple of hours, and even then Louise learned a lot about her own riding short comings and how and where she could improve.
We’ll be following Louise on her Advanced Rider journey to see what’s involved and what difference it makes to her riding.
