Donington Park race circuit hosted the R&G Official Test for the Bennetts British Superbikes this weekend and Sorrymate director Louise went along to see our sponsored team 2Strokes Racing Team.
They are competing in the Pirelli National Sportbike/ABK Beer 0% BMW Motorrad F900R Cup with riders Harley Prebble and Liam Vella.
From erecting awnings, unloading tool kits, applying tyre warmers and finding on site mechanics to weld bent forks, there’s no end of action behind the scenes to get both the riders and the bikes into peak condition.
The day starts at 7 getting the bikes out, and tool kits set up before the team go for breakfast. First race was 9am for Liam and Harley so activity started in earnest to get the bikes fueled and tyres and engines warmed up.
They took to the circuit and manager Pete entered the pit lane to keep a note of their lap times.
The weather wasn’t the best with Storm Kathleen producing 50mph winds, but both riders did really well with their times.
We took plenty of photos to give you a flavour of what goes on, and will be following the team around this season.
The team move onto the next practice in Navarro on 16th-21st April. We wish them all the best, and will be catching up with them at Oulton Park for Round 2.
