Charity Support

Sorrymate are Proud Supporters of the North West Air Ambulance Service.

Why do we do this?

Sorrymate have recently started to work with the North West Air Ambulance service. We will have them joining us on our stand at Motorcycle Live 2025.

The North West Air Ambulance responds to calls for accidental injuries to the most severe medical emergencies (sometimes including motorcycle accidents).

Their crew delivers specialist and enhanced pre-hospital care to the most critically ill and injured, and transports patients to the most appropriate hospital to achieve the best outcomes for them. Medical interventions that they provide at the scene of an accident include Rapid Sequence Induction (RSI), administering blood transfusions, analgesia, and many other life saving interventions.

They receive no government or NHS funding and rely entirely on fundraising and donations. It costs £18 million a year to keep them operational. It is only thanks to the generosity of the public and sponsors that allows them to continue flying and to continue saving lives.

Merseyside & Cheshire Blood Bikes.

Sorrymate work in partnership with the Merseyside & Cheshire Blood bikes. One of our Directors, Louise is training to become a blood biker herself!

Why do we do this?

The Merseyside & Cheshire blood bikers are a charity organisation providing free emergency transport to deliver blood, drugs, human tissues and medical supplies for the NHS, to help protect the health of the community.

Sorrymate sponsor one of the bikes on the Merseyside fleet. You can see him to the right, appropriately named SMIDSY.

We pay for the running costs of the bike so the rider doesn’t have to worry. The riders of these machines are all volunteers. They pay for their own fuel and maintenance on the bikes.

We believe this is a vital service and as bikers ourselves it makes total sense to us to look after bikers helping the community.

Louise says:

“I became interested in what the Blood Bikes were doing when I attended a NABB meeting as a representative of Sorrymate. I hadn’t realised that Blood Bikers were all volunteers, sectioned into different groups across the country and relied solely upon donations to keep the service going.

I found our local group, Merseyside and Cheshire Blood Bikes, and answered an ad asking for volunteer controllers.

As I got more involved with the group I volunteered to assist with corporate fundraising and I am now responsible for sourcing sponsors for bikes, and dealing with businesses who want to support the group.

Having met riders on fundraising activities I was inspired to do the same, and I’m currently taking IAM lessons with a view to becoming a rider when I’ve passed.”

Sorrymate are Proud Supporters of Yorkshire Air Ambulance

2023 saw Sorrymate raising over £15,000 with the raffle of a signed racing bike for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

RTC motorcycle accidents are one of the most common that the Air Ambulance Service respond to. The Air Ambulance charities do not have any support from the Government and rely solely on the generosity of the public and organisations to keep the service active. We are proud to support both the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and North West Air Ambulance.

Why do we do this?

Sorrymate and the 1964 Marshals associations are proud supports of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Both organisations raise money all year round for the charity however we wanted to raise more. So, the idea came about to build a Yorkshire Air Ambulance race bike which would be raffled off to raise vital funds. All proceeds went to Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Rob Scott, Regional fundraiser for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance said: “A massive thank you everyone at Sorrymate.com for the continued support of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. I would also like to say a very special thank you to Phil and Kev. It has been a pleasure working alongside you both at all the shows and events. What a journey it has been. A fantastic amount raised which will help save many lives.”

We helped Yorkshire Air Ambulance to fundraise and maybe you could help too?

This bike raised over £15,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

We also support the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance...
