Paul McKittrick
Paul has been involved in the legal industry for over 38 years initially as a claims handler but over the last 16 year as a Marketing and Business Development Manager. In Sorry Mate we promote ourselves and our services in a variety of different ways; outdoor exhibitions at regional events and local ride outs, indoor national exhibitions such as Motorcycle Live at the NEC, social media, sponsorships of riders, fund raising for various Air ambulances and relationships with other biker focused groups whether this be clubs, cafes, training academies, dealerships or insurers. My role is to oversee various aspects of maintaining the brand image and message and wherever possible enhancing our reputation.
My first experience on two wheeled power came via a purple FS1e at a very early on. The bike wasn’t mine but my best friends who had persuaded his Mum and Dad to buy him one. For anyone too young to know these bikes could be ridden under far different legislation than we see today. Basically if you applied and held a provisional driving licence (available to anyone over 16years of age) and the bike was under 50cc with pedals you were good to go. Sadly the experience didn’t end well with me sliding on some gravel and bending one of the bike pedals and my pride.
Since we’ve taken ownership of Sorry Mate exposure to biking has been exponential and with it a renewed interest. I’ve recently passed my CBT and am looking forward to booking my direct access courses as next steps. To this end we’ve bought an office Mutt, not the hairy kind but a Mutt Fat Sabbath 125cc which myself and two colleagues are looking to gain riding experience on to ensure we have sufficient confidence and training to take that next and crucial step to riding.
